Free Family Workshop: Introduction to the Invitation to Change Approach
A 3-hour workshop for families looking for new ways to help a loved one struggling with addiction, offering practical tools, guidance, and hope.
Description
If someone you love is struggling with substance use, you may have been told there is little you can do to help. The Invitation to Change Approach offers a different message. This 3-hour introductory workshop will introduce you to a compassionate, evidence-informed framework and practical skills that can help you reduce conflict, strengthen connection, and support positive change while staying grounded in your own values and wellbeing.
This workshop is being generously sponsored by the Milton A. and Roslyn Z. Wolf Foundation.
What is the Invitation to Change Approach?
The Invitation to Change Approach is grounded in compassion, connection, and the understanding that families can have a powerful helping impact on those struggling to change. The ITC Approach draws on evidence-based practices also found in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and the Community Reinforcement and Family Training approach (CRAFT), as well as decades of clinical experience working with families and loved ones.
What can I expect?
This interactive workshop includes a slide-based presentation introducing the core concepts of the Invitation to Change Approach, along with opportunities for discussion, questions, and reflection. While participation is encouraged, there is no expectation that attendees share personal details.
Who should attend?
This workshop is designed for parents, spouses, partners, siblings, adult children, friends, and other loved ones who are concerned about someone's substance use and are looking for practical tools, support, and new ways to help.
